Grizzly Face to Face
In Hollywood's Killer Bear, find out what caused the grizzly to attack Randy's cousin and best friend, Stephan Miller. This one-hour special re-lives the tragic day and exposes the dangers of working with unpredictable predators. See how Rocky was spared the death penalty after officials believed his actions were an accident. Watch as a grizzly bear scientist, a Hollywood director, animal trainers and eyewitnesses compare and contrast Rocky's and another captive bear's behaviour and lifestyle with those of wild bears.

I just wanted to say your show on National Geographic was SO good. It is so sad what happened but I am glad to see that Rocky is still alive and thriving. It looks like this definitely had to be an accident. My husband and I thought maybe he was actually going for a wig "like in the movie semi-pro" but since Steve didnt put his arm up like you do that may be why it happened the way he did. We also thought maybe he got spooked or "possessive" like you said after everyone went after him. What I am trying to say is that you can tell this bear did not do it on purpose. He, like all your other animals are amazing. You are such a brave person to get so close to these great beings and so many are envious that you are so fortunate to be so close with them. I cannot wait to see more of your work and it would be awesome if they would do a part 2 follow up on the "Grizzly Face to Face so that we can see his progress.
P.S. Your an amazing wonderful person and so are your animals

I saw the documentary about what happended to your cousin, Stevie. I'm so sorry about what happen and I very happy to hear that Rocky is do well. I saw the sadness in your eyes when talking about what happen. I hope one day you will not blame yourself anymore and I'm sure many people have told you that Stevie made the decision, he was a grown man and like you, was aware of what could happen, unfortunately it did. I hope you will wrestle with Rocky again one day. I'm sure he misses that contact with you. You're an amazing human being and I'm so envious of what you do. Take care and God Bless. Don't give up on Rocky I know in my heart it was an accident. Jen

Just finished watching a rebroadcast of the documentary. I've never used the words "poignant and haunting" to describe a NatGeo program (least of all one involving a tragedy like this) but it's as close as I can get to summing it up. My heart goes out to you and everyone who was on hand with you, Stephan and Rocky. No doubt you'll make your cousin proud every day you live to honor him.
